Matt

Huh? There’s no way I heard Jay right. “What the hell are you talking about? What do you mean by ‘share’?”

Jay has that look he gets whenever he comes up with a brilliant solution that no-one else could ever dream up. “Think about it, man. We’re both into Rachel. We could both keep seeing her.”

“What? Why? Where’s that going to lead? In the end, she’s only going to go for one of us. So there’s no reason to drag it out. No point at all.”

I don’t know what’s going on inside Jay’s mind, but I can practically see the wheels turning. He shakes his head, a big grin forming.

“She doesn’t have to choose at all if she can have both of us. You’re as into her as I am. She’s already been seeing us at the same time. We could keep going like we are, only it’s all out in the open now.”

I snort. “Right. Fine. Say we do that. Going out’s one thing, sure. We could split our time with her. But are you really saying you’d be okay with Rachel sleeping with both of us?”

Immediately the image of Jay and Rachel having sex springs up fully formed in my imagination. But it’s not jealousy that comes along with that picture like I expected it would be.

All I can think about is how hot that’d be to watch. The man I’ve been crushing on forever and the woman I’m falling for. Together. Naked.

Fuck.

Sign me up.

But there’s no way in hell I can let Jay know what I’m thinking. Besides, now that I’ve put the idea in his mind, his jealousy will kick in right away and he’ll forget all about this crazy idea of his.

This crazy, hot idea that I’m not going to be able to get out of my thoughts anytime soon.

Jay locks his eyes with mine. “Yeah. I’d be okay with that.”

I must’ve heard him wrong. I swallow hard. “You’d be okay with knowing that I’m sleeping with Rachel. The woman you’re falling for. Yeah, right.”

“I’m not only okay with it. I want to be there when it happens.”

I nearly spit out my coffee. There’s no way I heard Jay right. But I take the bait anyway. “Okay. I have to ask, just what the hell are you talking about?”

Jay lowers his voice once again. The shop has cleared out now, so there’s no-one anywhere close by that could overhear us. What’s he up to?

“I never told you about this. Hell, I’ve never told anyone about this. It was back in college. Back when I went away to that conference for a week or so, remember?”

The same week of my total, no-holds-barred insanity. I’ll never forget that time. I nod at Jay, and he continues.

“I met this woman in the hotel bar. She was smoking hot, like you wouldn’t believe. She had a wedding ring on, but I couldn’t resist spending time with her anyway. I figured I’d hang out with her as long as I could, see if any of her hot friends were maybe going to join her.
